All Work and a Little Bit of Play

Since we've had kids at home on college schedules, our home school schedule runs the same calendar as the colleges. So,  we still have another week of break!
Which is good since I have a care plan meeting for my mother in law, Epiphany water blessing, Epiphany mass, dentist appointments, Confirmation retreat, and moving Molly to new apartment for college. Outside classes do resume this week, then we'll start back full time in force next Tuesday.

I finally finished the old house window frame re purpose project, now to select photos to put in the frames.

We are trying to heat the house this winter with wood burning heat. Last year we only had propane heat, and when our road became impassible when it was washed out with rains, we didn't have heat.
Texas: mild winter, no real sacrifice! But the cost of propane is quite high, as you know from experience. Craig is a expert pyro fire master, Nick is pretty good, so they keep me warm but we've been burning through the wood. They had to chop down some more.

We have wood aplenty, and Craig, Nick and Euly cut a big dead tree down and split it. Then had some fun with the four wheeler in the overworked, muddy area.

One resolution is to get at least three good, four mile walks in per week. It's a pretty walk.We pass this tree, and we're just waiting for it to topple.

Hope is doing well and looking pretty cute.

I feel like we've had a month of Saturdays.
Have a great Monday!

  1. Wood burning stove. That is exactly what we are in the process of doing, looking at inserts for the gas stove. Found some great free standing, wood burning ones. David is doing some investigative work and then, hopefully, not to long, we will have a new wood burning stove!

I absolutely love the frame idea you put up on your wall. It's amazing to see everything you've done since you first moved in!! Love it.

    1. Thank you! Your comments always brighten my day.

We bought our free standing wood burning stove through Tractor Supply. If David has any questions, let us know. You're always welcome for a visit. ;)

I was skeptical at first, but I am very happy with the stove. Last night it warmed the room into the 70's.
