...to move from this undersized model,
Craig has worked so hard on designing and building this coop/brooder/feed storage palace, every moment he had had off work for the past month. Recently, while working on the roof, he injured his rib. So the kids and I decided we'd have it finished before he came back from his business trip this week. We all pitched in and finished cutting, installing and getting all homelike.
All fitted out with fresh hay and wood chips.
Lilly and Ceci were in charge of spreading the hay,
And Euly and I encouraged the chickens to break old habits and try out their new home.
"This is going to take a while."
Chalkboard messages and art for the chickens,
And a door to a secret secure roosting spot with ten nesting boxes inside.
They seem pretty happy with their new digs.
Just a few last touches needed, including an automatic door, and we are done!
