12 in 2014 part two: Journey to our new home

On December 31, 2013, Craig and I discussed the year, and I asked if there was anything he wanted to do or that he regretted we didn't during the year. He said, "buy that house!" So, January 1, we started packing up our house to prep it for sale. January 2, we called the realtor to start the purchase process for our new house. It was going to be a big undertaking, and a big gamble. We had to sell our house, not knowing when and if the seller's mortgage company would ever accept our offer, since it was in short sale. Ten months later, they accepted, one week after that we closed.

We didn't visit this month
but we had to say goodbye to our old house of 8 years.

we took the playscape with us
hoping we will remember how it goes back together someday.

July
We made a visit early in the month for Ceci's birthday
and were able to see the place with all the renter's furniture gone. Better able to visualize our dreams.

November
A busy month of changes, renovations, additions and improvements and updates...with a few nature walks mixed in. Everyone helps, because they want to. I have enjoyed seeing each one of our kids embrace and fall in love with their new home and property. Enthusiasm is contageous.

December
This month the house definitely started to feel like home, our home. I have all my kids home during school break, the dogs are settled, as well as the new kitty. We've had the house blessed and hosted a few visitors. We have so many projects to do throughout 2015, as money and time allows.  We are so thankful how 2014 turned out and how God blessed us with our new home!
