How do you say goodbye to a beloved Pope?
Knowing he is retiring from the Holy See to spend his days in prayer, will remind us to keep him always in our prayers.
We were so hopeful for his election in 2005. We were hopeful he would bless the traditional Catholic community, which he promptly did with the Motu proprio on the Latin mass, giving the rite the legitimacy it always had, but with papal approval.
He hasn't had a long term, but he has had a profound impact on the Church in our time, which will become known to the ages.
God bless him and keep him.
|From our visit in 2009, Craig couldn't get the camera to operate until just after the Holy Father blessed us and passed us.|
Blurry and all, I still treasure this picture.
|Nicholas and Max were able to find seats up front, this is the view we had front the back railing. The railing lined the popemobile pathway, so we had to make a choice to be up close during his blessing or a closer chance on railing.|
