7 Friday Quick Takes

7 quick takes sm1 7 Quick Takes about our anniversary, Halloween, and posts you should be thankful I never wrote
This article linked on Drudge is interesting: An open letter from Sinaed O'Connor to Miley Cyrus about being a women, being a role model and the message every young woman should hear and reflect on:

"You are worth more than your body or your sexual appeal. The world of showbiz doesn't see things that way, they like things to be seen the other way, whether they are magazines who want you on their cover, or whatever … Don't be under any illusions … ALL of them want you because they're making money off your youth and your beauty … which they could not do except for the fact your youth makes you blind to the evils of show business. If you have an innocent heart you can't recognise those who do not."

All girls of every age need to hear that we are beautiful, we are worth better treatment than the culture wants of us. We can simply start by dressing with dignity, behaving with dignity, speaking with dignity, we can lift the culture!

Soooo intense today- and I've deleted four other takes because I keep ranting against this culture and what innocence it takes by shoving sex in the face of children...
Ah, I'm doing it again..

October is the month of the Holy Rosary..
Today is a First Friday..
Tomorrow is a First Saturday..
40 days for life is going in now...

Using these opportunities to pray for a return of innocence, desire to protect the innocent, girls to realize they can influence their world by realizing their worth and behaving like the precious children of God they are.

Changing subjects...
My husband has accepted a new job within his company. He is happy, which makes me happy. Deo gratias!

We've had a pretty quiet school week, home most of the days, slowly checking off to do lists. I needed a week like this. Soccer starts up soon, adding evening practices to the schedule. It's a short season. It will be nice to get out and enjoy the evenings.

Happy Feast of Saint Francis!

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.
