Weekend Journal

Outside my air. We had long lovely unseasonable spring that I let myself forget how much I dislike the heat..

I am's just about hot enough to pull out the big blow up pool.

I am praying for..for our parish, for good news to come since we know God is in control. For our country, for Americans to know what a gift freedom is, and what a hard cost has been paid. For my family and all the youth starting on different and exciting paths this summer.

I am reading... this cool article about a local homeschool father.

I am thinking... this mode of transportation for Max is a little scary.

from today's Collect
Grant, O Lord, that we may have a perpetual fear and love of Thy holy name; for Thou never failest to direct and govern by Thy grace, those whom Thous bringest up in the steadfastness of Thy love.

I am daughter's first car accident was a fender bender and no one was hurt. Lessons learned.

In the kitchen...not much, but I have a batch of brownies in the oven for our parish's reception for the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Around the house...getting settled back in from great week away! Laundry, laundry, laundry...

After Mass celebration honoring Corpus Christi and Regina Caeli

A favorite prayer for Benediction..

Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.

Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man.
Blessed be the name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His angels and in His Saints.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
boy scout summer camp readiness, swim test, dentist appointments, Max comes back!, confession, choir practice, music lessons, Mass for Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday (plenary indulgence) and a wedding!

A peek into my day...last soccer games of the spring season today, both girls' games scheduled at 1:30. hot! Cecilia and Eulalia were both strong when facing other teams made up mostly of boys, rough boys, even ones who used shoulders and elbows...
 can't always stop them all...

Euly's team celebrated with ice cream...
Ceci's team celebrated at Double Dave's. Ceci's coach giving her a participation award for playing on his team. He gave much encouragement during the season and told her she was fun to watch because she had so much enthusiasm. I always describe her as soccer playing machine. Once on the field, she is in the zone!
